The motivation for this was to map transport-related information for all districts and independent cities in Germany in an up-to-date state. This information can then be used, for example, to determine the future demand for employees in transport-related economic sectors through our model-based simulations.\n\nThe regional mobility database contains general data on the population, features on settlement structure (settlement structure district type according to BBSR classification), vehicle stock (passenger cars and public transport vehicles), data on transport infrastructure (track length, kilometres of roads and cycle paths, filling stations, charging stations), data on transport performance (passenger kilometres and vehicle kilometres per means of transport) and data on transport-related employment. These in turn are broken down into services (motor vehicle trade and repair, transport and logistics, public transport, car sharing and other mobility services) and industry (production of vehicles and vehicle parts) as well as employees for the production and operation of transport infrastructure.\n\nSome of the data contained in the RE-MOB are based on official data, others are mathematically derived, based on available data from a higher level (state or federal
