About:
In an online survey commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Transport and conducted by the Fraunhofer Institute ISI and M-Five in autumn 2024, over 2,000 people were asked about climate protection measures in transport policy.
The results of the study provide information on how measures can be selected and designed to strengthen social cohesion. Orienting oneself towards social criteria is one way of providing targeted support and avoiding polarisation.
Another way is to take greater account of the potential for activation – whether in favour of or against individual measures – and to use it to engage in an exchange with the population. In this way, citizens can be involved at an early stage. Overall, these results open up opportunities to discuss and negotiate important transport policy projects more intensively at a political level.
