About:
The Geopolitical Supply Risk Index (GVRI) is developed in this study. It shows that the ramp-up of synthetic fuels depends on similar raw materials as e-mobility. While import-based risks can be countered by diversifying import countries and stockpiling, production-based risks are more serious and more difficult to counter. Here, diplomacy must be used and long-term agreements with producer countries agreed, as well as possible substitutes investigated. Magnesium, tungsten, rare earths, tantalum and boron are particularly critical.
