The study analyses the climate-related damage to European transport networks that has already occurred to date. M-Five developed a database for transport-related climate adaptation measures. The occurrence of future climate events is assessed for three warming scenarios and the need for climate adaptation is derived from this. By 2050, the damage consequences of the scenarios are close to each other and require investments of 71 Mrd. € in order to at least be prepared for events that occur on average once every 100 years.
