The report provides an in-depth look at the results of the 2026 greenhouse gas projection data. Alongside the assessment of policy instruments, it presents the sensitivity analyses in detail and explores further detailed analyses. For 2021–2030, the 2026 projection data show a narrow cumulative undershooting of the permitted total annual emission budget. Results follow the sectors of the Federal Climate Change Act and the EU Climate Action Regulation (ESR). In the transport sector, M-Five worked with Fraunhofer ISI to model and assess passenger and freight demand using the ASTRA-M model. A model and data documentation of ASTRA-M was produced alongside the report.
